U.S. AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN VISITS BAKU SLAVIC UNIVERSITY
Baku, April 27 (AzerTAc). US Ambassador Anne Derse was a guest of “Ambassador hour” club in the Baku Slavic University (BSU).
Rector of BSU Kamal Abdullayev briefed the ambassador on the university`s history and international relations.
Abdullayev expressed confidence that the meeting with the ambassador would contribute to strengthening humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and the U.S.
Anne Derse said she was aware of the scientific potential of BSU`s students and teaching staff.
The diplomat praised the fact that the university cooperates with several scientific institutions across the world.
The ambassador answered the questions of the University`s students.
She said her country steps up efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully.
She noted OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair Matthew Bryza visited the region several times over the last week on the instructions of the U.S. President and Secretary of State.
She also underlined the United States is Azerbaijan`s partner.
