Ba Ha river hydroelectric plant begins test run
Phu Yen (VNA) - The first turbine of the Ba Ha River Hydroelectric Plant in
central Phu Yen province began its test run on April 26.
The two-turbine 220MW plant, boasting an investment of 4.2 trillion VND (264 million
USD), is set to start generating electricity by the third quarter of 2009.
When operational, the plant will produce 825 million kWh of electricity annually and
is expected to minimise the effects of natural disasters, such as floods, in
low-lying areas.-Enditem
