Border talks between Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan result in signing two protocols

Bishkek, Aug. 28, 2020 /Kabar/. As a result of talks between the government delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, two protocols have been signed in the city of Tashkent, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported Friday. "The sides agreed and approved a draft description of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border project line with the length of 94.5 km. One of 10 uncoordinated sections was also agreed and approved. As a result of negotiations, two documents were signed: a protocol of topographic working groups and a protocol of the government delegations on delimitation and demarcation of the state border. The parties agreed to intensify the activities of the working groups for the benefit of solving border issues of concern to our peoples. The schedule of working meetings till the end of this year was approved. They will be held on a monthly basis", Special Representative of the Kyrgyz Government on border issues in the rank of First Deputy Chief of the Government’s Office Nazirbek Borubayev noted. Head of the Kyrgyz government delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Akram Madumarov noted the fruitfulness of the past negotiation process. He emphasized that work on delimitation and demarcation of the state border, as well as solution of a complex of border issues is a priority in the work of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
