BAKU HOSTS CONFERENCE “SOCIAL ASSISTANCE, SOCIAL REHABILITATION: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”
Baku, April 24 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and World Bank co-organized here on Friday the second international scientific conference on “Social assistance, social rehabilitation: sustainable development”.
The meeting started with opening remarks of Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Fuzuli Alakbarov who told of the improvement of the targeted social assistance mechanisms. The Minister noted that ongoing global financial crisis did not affect Azerbaijani economy and people`s living standards.
World Bank representatives Alexandra Posarak and Lire Ersado presented the results of the monitoring to study the effects of the targeted social assistance on poverty.
The conference brought together representatives of international organizations, ministries, committees, NGOs and chairmen of Milli Majlis standing commissions
