Turkey signs protocol on holding 4th World Nomad Games in 2021

Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2020 / Kabar /. The Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Federation of Traditional Sports of Turkey signed on Aug. 12 in Iznik, Bursa province a protocol on the organizational aspects of the Fourth World Nomad Games, planned to be held in 2021 on the territory of the Republic of Turkey, the embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Turkey reported. Thus, the preparation for one of the large-scale and outstanding international events of 2021 has been launched. The event, organized on the occasion of the signing of the document, was attended by Minister of Sports and Youth of Turkey Mehmet Kasapoglu, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Serdar Çam, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan, Governor of Bursa Province Yakup Canbolat and Mayor of Bursa Alinur Aktash. During the event, the Turkish side emphasized the important role of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is the founding state of the Games and made an invaluable contribution to their formation and world recognition. The Turkish side stressed the successful holding by Kyrgyzstan of the Third World Nomad Games, held in 2018 in Issyk-Kul. The Turkish side informed about the preparations for the Games and assured that the traditions laid down by the Kyrgyz Republic will be preserved in the best possible way. This is already evidenced by the symbolism of the venue for the Nomad Games: on the territory of the city of Iznik there is a memorial to the memory of Kyrgyz soldiers who died in the battles for the capture of the city. In addition, according to the tradition laid down by the Kyrgyz side, the Games are planned to be held on the shores of Lake Iznik. After successful holding the Third World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan in 2018, the baton was handed over to the Turkish side to hold the next Games in 2020 in Turkey. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the holding of the Fourth World Nomad Games was postponed to 2021.
