Kyrgyzstan adds 278 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan added 278 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total infections in the country to 40,455. Among the new cases 57 cases are laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 221 cases of pneumonia, Ainura Akmatova, the head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry told a daily news briefing. She also added that 8 of the new cases are medical workers, bringing the caseload of infected medical workers to 2,967, 535 more patients had completed their period of treatment, bringing the number of recoveries to 32,764, including 2,212 recoveries among medical workers. Meanwhile 4 lethal cases from the coronavirus were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the country's COVID-19 death toll to 1,478. There are 6,397 active cases of COVID-19 in the country, all of them are receiving treatment in hospitals.
