Turkmenistan to implement new projects with Denmark's Haldor Topsoe

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6 By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend: Denmark’s Haldor Topsoe and Turkmenistan are participating in discussions of new projects which will help Turkmenistan monetize large reserves of natural gas, Vadim Shiriev, Haldor Topsoe Representative in Turkmenistan, told Trend. “We see huge potential in further development of gas reserves in Turkmenistan and are ready to provide our experience and research and development (R&D) capabilities for future projects,” said Shiriev. Haldor Topsoe has a long history of cooperation with Turkmenistan, the representative noted. “Topsoe is a licenser of two successfully operating plants in Turkmenistan: an ammonia plant near the Garabogaz Bay and the recently launched GTG plant, located in the Ovadan-Depe area, producing gasoline from natural gas. Currently, we are participating in discussions of new projects which will help Turkmenistan monetize their large reserves of natural gas,” Shiriev added. The representative said that the GTG plant is based on Haldor Topsoe’s TIGAS™ (Topsoe Improved Gasoline Synthesis) technology and this was the first full scale large commercial facility in the world using this technology. Talking about company’s general activity, Shiriev noted that Haldor Topsoe is in the business of selling engineering, catalysts, license, proprietary hardware and services for chemical and refining industries. Earlier, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, it was reported that the country plans to develop cooperation with Denmark's Haldor Topsoe. It was also noted that the Danish company is a partner of Turkmenistan in the field of modernizing the domestic oil and gas complex and introducing advanced methods, innovations and technologies into production. --- Follow the author on Twitter: @JeilaAliyeva
