Kyrgyzstan, Sweden to strengthen co-op in combating COVID-19 pandemic

Bishkek, July 10, 2020. /Kabar/. Yesterday, July 9 a phone talk between Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and Sweden Ann Linde took place. According to the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA, in the course of the conversation, the two foreign ministers discussed the measures taken by the governments of the countries to protect public health. "The importance of cooperation aimed at the result of the fight against further spread of coronavirus infection and its social and economic consequences was noted," the report says. The Kyrgyz, Swedish diplomats also exchanged views on the current epidemiological situation and measures being taken to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The sides agreed to strengthen practical cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences, as well as to further intensify the entire complex of bilateral relations, with special emphasis on the intensification of trade and economic issues and expansion of the legal framework. At the same time, attention was paid to issues of mutual support to the initiatives of the sides within international organizations and strengthening cooperation within the framework of multilateral cooperation within the EU and the UN and the OSCE.
