AZERI TRANSPORT MINISTER MEETS UAE MINISTER OF ECONOMY

Baku, April 23 (AzerTAc) Azerbajan`s Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov met Wednesday with Sultan Bin Saeed Al-Mansouri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, chairman of federal transport and general civil aviation authorities.
Ziya Mammadov said Al-Mansouri`s current visit would contribute to developing cooperation between the two countries.
According to him, after President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to UAE bilateral relationship entered a new stage. The two countries have great potential to cooperate in both political and economic spheres, the Minister added.
Mammadov noted transport sector has a great role in Azerbaijan`s economy.
He pointed out ongoing transport reforms accelerates the country`s integration into the world transport system.
Sultan Bin Saeed Al-Mansouri, in turn, said Azerbaijan and UAE have friendly relations.
He praised Azerbaijan`s “rapid development.”
According to UAE Minister, President Ilham Aliyev`s policy to diversify economy has already yielded positive results.
He stressed that UAE is ready to assist Azerbaijan in carrying out transport projects.
Following the meeting, the two ministers signed a protocol on bilateral cooperation.
