Iran Pres says CBI capable of harnessing forex fluctuations
Tehran, June 24, IRNA - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced on Wednesday that the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) is capable of getting fluctuations in the forex market under control.
Fluctuations in the forex market go back to two or three months ago [after the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in Iran in February], President Rouhani said at the cabinet session held in Tehran this morning.
Conditions in the country are slowly improving, said the president, expressing satisfaction over the amount of oil and non-oil exports during the past month.
Despite the enemies' psychological propaganda, the government has been working to remove obstacles in this regard, he added.
As the president stressed, the Judiciary will confront those who misuse the forex market to put pressure on people.
About Iran's exports, the president stated that the country will witness 41 billion dollars' worth of non-oil exports up to the end of the Iranian calendar year on March 20, 2021.
Touching upon the situation of coronavirus pandemic in the country, the president said the conditions will improve within the next few days in provinces that had already been placed in the red category.
Then, he called on the people to follow social distancing rules and health protocols to help the government fight the deadly virus.
The deadly coronavirus radiating from Wuhan, China, in December 2019 has affected near 9,163,000 people across the world and killed over 473,000 people; while in Iran the number of the dead is more than 9,800.
Also about the recent International Atomic Energy Agency's resolution, President Rouhani warned the IAEA about being polluted by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel.
Experts believe that the recent statement of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, also the IAEA resolution claiming that Iran has not had full cooperation and has not given access to two nuclear sites shows that this international body, instead of doing its natural duties of verification of data, has become a tool in the hands of the US and the Zionist regime, the only holder of nuclear weapons in western Asia.
The Iranian president urged the IAEA to give accurate and legal judgment as Iran's behavior towards the Agency has been friendly and legal.
Reminding the IAEA of its duty towards other countries, President Rouhani said the IAEA should be careful not to be diverted from its legitimate path.
Strongly criticizing the Europeans for their recent stance on Iran, Rouhani said there is no need for them to interfere in a condition created by the US and the Zionist regime.
Then, he advised the Europeans and the IAEA not to put themselves under the US pressure, but keep themselves independent instead.
Meanwhile, President Rouhani said China, Russia, and other certain states did well vis-a-vis the issue.
However, Iran is still ready to have close cooperation with the IAEA and its legal supervision within the framework of regulations, the Iranian president said.
Elsewhere, he talked of readiness for holding negotiations being stated by US President Donald Trump over and over and said that Iran does not await presidential election in America.
After the recent release of an American national Michael White who was detained in Iran, Trump tweeted: "Don’t wait until after US Election to make the Big deal. I’m going to win. You’ll make a better deal now!"
But, analysts believe that due to lack of confidence and the US' maximum pressures on Iran, the first step the United States as the violater of July 2015 nuclear deal- should take is to lift sanctions to show its honesty.
The Iranian president believes that Iran will have no problem [for holding talks with the US] only when they give in to the Law, recover the losses, apologize to the Iranian nation and return to the regulations within the framework of the Group5+1.
The US withdrew unilaterally from the July 2015 nuclear deal, aka Joint Comprehensive of Action (JCPOA), between Iran and the six world powers- the US, UK, France, China, Russia, and Germany.
