VP: Iran has decisive role in providing energy for ME and world
Iran has a decisive role in providing a big part of energy for the Middle East and the world.
In the opening ceremony of the 14th International Exhibition of Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals here on Tuesday, Davoudi said Iran will maintain its second position among oil producers of OPEC adding that by increasing refinery capacity, Iran can even reach the first position in the region.
"Holding such an exhibition is a potential opportunity for contractors, experts, investors and oil, gas companies," Davoudi said, adding that it is a suitable opportunity for exchanging views for more work in the future.
The VP said around 1,300 foreign and domestic companies have participated in the fair and presence of the prestigious firms in the exhibition indicates failure of the sanctions and pressures against Iran and that the sanctions were illegal and illogical.
Referring to the current world economic and financial crisis, Davoudi said that Iran is among those countries who have been harmed the least because of its stable economy.
He added Iran has controlled unemployment rate and is promoting its ties with foreign countries.
The first vice-president said security and stability are very important for investors and Iran with wide supporting acts in the fields of regulations and law, insurance and customs, has opened the way for attracting more investments.
