UN Virtual Forum on Responsible Business and Human Rights taking place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A Virtual Forum on Responsible Business and Human Rights: New Challenges. New Approaches is being co-organized online by UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights (UNWG), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on June 9-12. The forum features 21 sessions with over 4,500 registered participants from Asia-Pacific and international organizations. For instance, V.Oyu, Chief of Human Rights Division, Department of International Law and Treaty, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will represent Mongolia at the session “Present and Future of National Action Plans in Asia through the Eyes of Four Business and Human Rights Champions.” Whereas, Tatsuya Hamada, CEO of Mobicom Corporation, and Alex Heikens, UNICEF Resident Representative in Mongolia, will participate in the session “The Role of Business in Mitigating the Social Impact of the COVID-19 Crisis on Workers and Families” as speakers. Moreover, Jana Žilková, Head of Mission of Caritas Czech Republic in Mongolia, which is implementing a project to improve resource-efficient and cleaner production in the Mongolian construction sector through materials recovery, will make a presentation at the session “Moving the Needle on Climate Change: Business Actions for a 1.5°C Future”.
