Hong Kong chief hopes for PM Dung's visit to increase ties

Hong Kong (VNA) - Hong Kong Special Administration Region Chief Tsang Yum-Kuen said that Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's first visit to Hong Kong will create a momentum for a new development step in bilateral ties.

At the Hong Kong chief's talks with PM Dung in Hong Kong on April 20, both top
leaders affirmed the importance of developing bilateral friendship and cooperation
and discussed measures to implement the work.

They exchanged views on the possibility of more agreements to create a legal
framework for bilateral cooperation in such fields as trade, investment, tourism and
culture.

PM Dung said he highly valued achievements that the Hong Kong people and
administration have gained since the region returned to China and vowed to do
his best to bolster the two sides' ties in the coming time.

PM Dung invited the Hong Kong Chief to visit Vietnam . In return, the Hong Kong
Chief asked PM Dung to convey his invitation to pay an official visit Hong Kong to
State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Following their talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a memorandum of
understanding on cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and
Training and the Hong Kong Education Bureau.

On the day, PM Dung received representatives of the Vietnamese community and the
staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Hong Kong.-Enditem
