Vietnam attractive to Australian investors
Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam remains an attractive destination for Australian investors in the next 10-15 years, head of the Australian businesses' delegation to Vietnam , Richard Woolcott has affirmed.
The Australian businessman gave the comment in an interview granted to Lao Dong
(Labour) newspaper on April 19.
He went on to say that Vietnam has dealt with the economic crisis better than
other countries and it has showed its fast recovery.
Richard also predicted that the country would gain a growth rate of at least 3.1
percent and would further create many good opportunities for Australian investors.
According to Richard, who is also director of the Asia Society AustralAsia
Centre, this is the third time the Centre sent a business delegation to Vietnam
.
Earlier, in January, Richard in the capacity of special envoy of Australian Prime
Minister Kevin Rudd, visited Vietnam to consul on the Asia-Pacific Community.
The Asia-Pacific Union will create a favourable environment for member countries
to bring into play their community spirit, on the basic principle of cooperation,
Richard said.
He said Asia-Pacific countries would also be united into a community to share
their responsibilities in defending security.-Enditem
