AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV MEETS HEADS OF LEADING RUSSIAN MASS MEDIA
Moscow, April 18 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, who is on a working visit to Moscow, has met today in the ITAR-TASS news agency heads of Russia`s leading mass media.
ITAR-TASS director general Vitaly Ignatenko called the meeting a good opportunity to hear President Ilham Aliyev`s views on various issues from him personally.
The Head of State responded to a number of questions, covering the Azerbaijan-Russia bilateral relations, Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan`s involvement in international energy projects, the country`s economic development amid the world`s economic and financial crisis, regional issues, and Azerbaijan`s role in the international relations system.
Present in the meeting were director general of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company Oleg Dobrodeyev, director general of the Channel One Konstantin Ernst, Editor-in-Chief of RIA Novosti agency Svetlana Mironyuk, Editor-in-Chief of Echo Moskvy radio station Alexei Venediktov, as well as heads of leading newspapers and magazines.
The Azerbaijani President`s spouse, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva was also present in the meeting.
