Germany to cooperate in development project of Iranian city
Berlin, April 18, IRNA
Cooperation in development plan of New Hashtgerd City, a suburb of
Iranian metropolitan city, Karaj, was discussed at joint session of
IRI engineering delegation and a Berlin University?s Faculty of
Technical Engineering group here Friday.
According to IRNA correspondent in Berlin, the comprehensive plan for
development of the New Hashtgerd City is designed with an approach
towards sustainable development, modern rural planning, culture
building for increasing public awareness about ideal living standards,
taking proper advantage of available resources, constructing
quake-proof houses, and briefly speaking, revising entire normal rural
development methods.
The letter of agreement sighed between the Iranian Ministry of Housing
and Rural Development and the Faculty of Technical Engineering of
Berlin University would be the framework for their cooperation in
implementing the development plan of the Iranian city.
The said plan is inclusive of three sections of a 35-hectare township,
namely an administrative center equipped with most advanced technology
of the day and a center allocated to training the construction workers
needed at the city, all three of which would be constructed
simultaneously.
The plan is still in its pilot study phase, but according to the
Iranian side, implementing it would begin in near future.
Deputy IRI Housing and Rural Development Minister Seyyed Mahmoud
Fatemi-Aqda who is also the head of the Construction and Housing
Research Center spoke to IRNA regarding the plan.
He said, ?The major objective behind the will to implement this plan
is instigating the most up-to-date technology in the world in the
field of constructing modern building structures and moving towards
maximum energy economizing in houses through technology transfer and
then turning them into indigenous technological know-how.
Fatemi-Aqda said that another objective of the plan is training the
efficient manpower for construction of such structures and thorough
revision of the vocational training methods in building construction
field.
