To Prevent Coronavirus .. Wasit International Film Festival Postponed To Next April

Al-Kut / NINA / -The administration of Wasit International Short Film Festival has decided to postpone the launch of the fifth edition until the middle of next April, because of Coronavirus. The director of the festival, director Abbas Al-Aboudi, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency /NINA/: "The fifth version of the festival, which is named the artist musician Naseer Shamma session, has already been determined for the second week of March, with the participation of dozens of Arab, foreign and Iraqi films and in the presence of a number of Iraqi and Arab cinema artists. " He added: "In view of the health conditions our country is going through due to (Coronavirus) and in the interest of the safety of our dear guests, the festival administration decided to postpone the launch of the fifth edition until the middle of next April." It is noteworthy that the Wasit International Film Festival for Short Films, organized annually by the Fun Center for Cinema and Theater in Wasit, launched its first edition activities in 2016, and it has been included in the curriculum of the approved festivals of Iraqi cinema./ End
