Parliament not to convene for irregular session

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In accordance with the Law on State Great Khural (Parliament), 2020 spring session of the parliament is scheduled to start on April 5. Yesterday, March 05, Parliament Speaker G.Zandanshatar gave an order to chairs of Parliamentary standing committees to take appropriate steps to eliminate the negative impacts of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, which urged declaration of heightened state of preparedness across nationwide for prevention. In connection to this, the parliament was expected to summon irregular session this month. However, head of the parliamentary group of the Mongolian People's Party MP D.Togtokhsuren informed to ikon.mn news website that "Parliament will not hold an irregular session as there is nothing urgent to discuss".
