AZERI MINISTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY MEETS US DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EUROPEAN AND EURASIAN AFFAIRS
Baku, 16 April (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister of National Security, Eldar Mahmudov, today has received here Matthew Bryza, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and co-chairman of OSCE Minsk Group, at the latter`s request.
Touching upon Armenia`s conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh region, the minister said “the problem of Azerbaijan`s uncontrolled territories, which were occupied by Armenia, poses a major threat not only to Azerbaijan, but also to the whole region”.
Mahmudov talked about ongoing developments, realities and potential menaces in the region.
The Azerbaijani minister raised the awareness of Bryza about what the ministry has been doing to combat international terrorism, extremism and organized crime.
The meeting also focused on other issues of mutual interest.
