BP MARKS CENTENARY JUBILEE
Baku, 15 April (AzerTAc). BP Company marks its hundredth jubilee, a landmark event in the Company`s history. The Company has been founded in April 1909 to develop the Masjidi-Suleyman deposit in Iran under the name of Anglo-Persian Oil Company and later was renamed BP.
In the passed 100 years the Company transformed to a multinational company operating in over hundred world countries. BP`s cooperation with Azerbaijan is of special importance.
Fifteen years ago BP reached a new historical phase. In 1994, the Company in associate with the Government of Azerbaijan and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has started a new era in the history of country`s oil industry.
Since that day, all the goals and earmarked projects were implemented. Deepwater platforms have been constructed in short time and the production operations are underway. The largest world terminal Sangachal and export pipeline are effectively operating. And the huge Shahdeniz deposit serves to the Azerbaijani people.
Over one billion barrel of oil was produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) deposit, half of which were transported through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. This is the result of strong partnership among the Government of Azerbaijan, SOCAR and BP.
