Iran dismisses Miliband's mandatory statement
Tehran, April 14, IRNA
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi on Tuesday "the mandatory
statement" made by British Foreign Secretary David Miliband over the
national nuclear program.
Talking to IRNA, he said, the Islamic Republic enjoys amicable ties
based on mutual respect with all regional states.
He regretted that British allegations against Iran?s peaceful nuclear
program were "mandatory and unacceptable".
Miliband, in a press conference during his recent visit to Saudi
Arabia, referred to Iran?s peaceful nuclear program as a real threat
to the Mideast stability, saying the regional states are also
concerned over Iran?s interference in their domestic affairs.
Qashqavi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly
announced that its nuclear program has peaceful nature verified by the
International Atomic Energy Agency several times in the past few years.
He regretted that tens of nuclear warheads and weapons of mass
destruction of the Zionist regime, which are the main cause of
regional concern, are fully ignored by the British government.
What is damaging the regional security is interference of foreign
countries in the regional affairs, Qashqavi said, reiterating that the
presence of foreign forces in the region has seriously endangered the
Persian Gulf stability and security as well as the political and
economic development of the entire region.
