Conference on trial of Zionists planned

Tehran, April 14, IRNA

Senior judicial officials from Muslim countries and international
legal experts will meet here from April 21-22 to take steps to bring
Zionist leaders to trial for committing genocide and war crimes in Gaza.

A statement released by Tehran's Prosecutor Office said that growing
trend of crimes in various parts of the world and clear human rights
violations have placed the onus on international bodies which have the
responsibility of preventing them.

Trial of the perpetrators of the crimes is an effective measure in
this respect, it said.

Extended siege of Gaza, the killing of civilians during the 22-day war
and destruction of non-military properties as well as the use of
prohibited weapons by the Zionist forces are among the clear
manifestations of war crimes and genocide.

Given the Zionist regime's intention to completely destroy Gaza
resistance, deterrent actions by Muslim countries is essential, the
statement said.

Following the drawing up of criminal case and complementing
preliminary researches on Gaza crimes and sending arrest warrants for
25 perpetrators of the crimes to Interpol, Iran's Judiciary plans to
organize the conference with the aim of strengthening unity among
Islamic countries and enable the exchange of views.
