FEDERATION OF TURKISH-AZERBAIJANI CIRCLES PROTESTS AGAINST REPORTS ON REOPENING OF TURKISH-ARMENIAN BORDER

Baku, April 13 (AzerTAc). Chairman of the Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani Circles Bilal Dundar held a press-conference during which he protested against recent media reports on reopening of the border between Turkey and Armenia. He described “such step by Turkey as a betrayal of Azerbaijan.”
Bilal Dundar noted that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories were occupied by Armenia with more than a million people driven out from their original lands by force. He stressed “the Turkish community shares public concern in Azerbaijan over the possible opening of the border. According to him, Turkey and Azerbaijan must support each-other in difficult times and fight against the common enemy.”
Bilal Dundar also pointed out “double standards of the West which exerts pressure on Turkey to open the border with Armenia will not be allowed in the region.”
Dundar also added that Armenia must liberate the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and reject territorial allegations against Turkey.
