National Easter road toll reaches 12



The holiday road toll has reached 12, with the deaths of a truck driver in NSW and a
mother and son in Queensland on Easter Sunday.

The 51-year-old Mt Isa woman and her son were killed in a two-vehicle crash on the
Peak Downs Highway, just outside Nebo, about 100km west of Mackay, about 8am (AEST).
The national toll reached 12 when a 36-year-old truck driver crashed into a tree off
Weabonga Road at Ogunbil at 2.30pm (AEST).
NSW leads the nation's road toll with five fatalities, followed by Queensland with
four.
Victoria, Western Australia and the ACT have recorded one death each. South
Australia, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory are fatality free so far.
