Hai Phong DAP plant gives first batch of fertiliser

Hai Phong (VNA) - The Hai Phong DAP fertiliser plant turned out its first batch of
products on April 11 after test operation.

The diammonium phosphate fertiliser plant, built by the Vietnam Chemicals
Corporation at a cost of 172 million USD in the Dinh Vu Economic Zone, is expected
to produce 150,000-160,000 tonnes of DAP by the end of this year and to reach its
full design capacity of 330,000 tonnes by 2010.

The plant is also expected to earn an annual revenue of 330 million USD, remit 6.6
million USD every year to the State coffin, and help save 165 million USD per year
from fertiliser import.

So far, 12 domestic and foreign clients have registered to purchase the plant's
