AZERBAIJAN`S FLAG INSTALLED AT SOUTH POLE
Baku, April 11 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani climber Israfil Ashurlu has installed the country`s flag at the South Pole.
Ashurlu, who in 2007 conquered Everest, the world`s highest peak, began his bid to reach the South Pole on March 28. He is expected to return to Moscow on April 13.
Ashurlu has recently been awarded the Taraggi medal for his contributions to developing sport in Azerbaijan.
