NATIONAL SECURITY MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS CHIEF OF FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SERVICE OF UKRAINE

Baku, April 10 (AzerTAc). National Security Minister of Azerbaijan Eldar Mahmudov has met here today with Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Nikolay Malomuj who is accompanying visiting President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko.
Minister Mahmudov described the first visit of chief of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service as the next step towards development of cooperation between intelligence agencies of both countries.
The sides discussed fight against transnational organized crime, terrorism, illegal drugs turnover, migration as well as prospects for cooperation between special services of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Minister told about the measures Azerbaijan took to fight international terrorism and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its consequences.
Nikolay Malomuj said he is satisfied with the results of discussions on security interests of both countries. He expressed his satisfaction with development of relationship between security bodies of both countries. Malomuj pointed out the agreement on cooperation between the National Security Ministry of Azerbaijan and Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine will be useful for strengthening bilateral ties.
