Techcombank, ICBC link payment services

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank
(Techcombank) signed a cross-border payment cooperation agreement with the
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in Hanoi on April 9.

Techcombank said the agreement with ICBC Guangxi branch will help avoid risks
associated with cash payments and facilitate Vietnamese and Chinese businesses and
individuals' trade activities in border areas.

Techcombank branches in northern Lang Son and Quang Ninh provinces and ICBC
branches in Dongxing and Pengxiang will be permitted to conduct cross-border
payment activities using money transfers, L/C, and banking guarantees.

Also, these branches will be allowed to use ICBC's internet banking services.

Techcombank General Director Nguyen Duc Vinh said that Vietnam-China bilateral
trade ties have grown significantly in recent years, particularly regarding
cross-border trade.

Techcombank hopes the agreement will allow it to provide customers with fast, safe
and reliable cross-border payment services.-Enditem
