Vietcombank, Mega ICBC invest in cement plant

Hanoi (VNA) - The Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) and
Taiwan 's Mega ICBC Bank will invest 73 million USD into the second production
line of the Phuc Son cement plant in northern Hai Duong province.

The contract was signed by representatives of Vietcombank's branch in Hai Duong
and Mega ICBC's branch in HCM City on April 8.

Once operational in July 2009, the 105 million USD production line is expected to
double the plant's current output to 4 million tonnes of cement per year.

The Phuc Son cement plant is located in Phu Thu commune and has an production
capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per year. It is a joint venture between Taiwan
's Lucky Group and the Hai Duong Cement Company, with a total investment capital
of 265 million USD, of which the Lucky Group accounts for 90 percent.-Enditem
