Any effort to damage Iran-Syria ties doomed to failure: Syrian MP

Damascus, April 8, IRNA

Member of the Syrian parliament (Majlis al-Sha?ab) stressed on
Wednesday that any effort made by the US, the Zionist regime or other
countries to damage Iran-Syria relations is doomed to failure.

?Syria would never give in to the will of big powers for distancing
itself from Iran as the country is one of the pillars of restoring
peace to the region and removing regional tensions,? Bahauddin Hassan
told IRNA in an exclusive interview.

He stressed that any effort to develop a rift between Iran and Syria
would fail as the two states? relations ?are deeply rooted.?

Hassan referred to the Zionist regime and its sizeable nuclear
arsenals calculated to be on or above two hundred missile ready units
which were as the main sources of instability, tension and lack of
security both in the region and worldwide.

He further stressed that Damascus was not seeking to develop nuclear weapons.
