AZERBAIJAN ICT MINISTER MEETS NEW RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR
Baku, April 8 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov met with newly-appointed Russian ambassador to the country Vladimir Dorokhin.
Abbasov informed the Russian envoy about the governmental support to developing the ICT sector in Azerbaijan.
The Minister stressed the necessity of expanding bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, particularly in information and communication technologies sector.
Dorokhin in turn said Russia attaches great stress to ICT cooperation with Azerbaijan, noting the importance of signing a relevant intergovernmental agreement.
“Russia wants to see Azerbaijan an innovation center in Caucasus and Central Asia” the ambassador said.
Russia`s trade representative in Azerbaijan Yuri Shedrin was present in the meeting.
