Stamps, banknotes from 10 countries donated to Astan-e Qods Razavi
Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi prov, April 7, IRNA - A rare collection of historical stamps, coins and banknotes from 10 countries was donated to Astan-e Qods Razavi, the custodian of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eight Imam of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) infallible household.
A report by the Libraries, Museums Department and Documents Center
Astan-e Qods Razavi quoted the curator of the foundation's Stamps and
Banknotes Museum as saying that the objects were donated by the
diplomatic missions of European, Asian and African countries in Iran
including those of Australia, Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Iraq, Serbia,
Thailand, Finland and Sri Lanka.
Mohammad Hossein Yazdinejad added that the collection includes
portraits of distinguished Muslim scientists, Australian scientists,
pictures of Cypriot monuments, photos of Serbian, Thai and Turkish
political, cultural, scientific and religious figures and coins from
Australia and the Vatican.
The collection is of great significance in introducing the countries'
culture, art and civilization the researchers, he noted.
