-FOREIGN MINISTRY EXPRESSES TURKEY'S
CONCERNS OVER NORTH KOREA'S LAUNCHING A ROCKET

ANKARA (A.A) - 06.04.2009 - The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Turkey's concerns after North Korea fired a rocket carrying a satellite.
Releasing a statement, the Ministry said that North Korea launched a rocket which it defined an experimental communication satellite.
"We support efforts of the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to determine a joint attitude. We wish that the parties would avoid steps that do not contribute to good-will efforts, ensuring peace and stability in the region," the Ministry said.
North Korea fired what it called an "experimental communications satellite" into space from the Musudan-ri launch site this weekend. Although North Korea said that the satellite successfully went into orbit, Japan claimed that it dropped into the ocean to the east and west of Japan.
