Documents to be kept safe at Central Archive of Criminal cases

Ulaanbaatar /MONSTAME/ During his visit to Mongolia, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop took part in the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA)’s project ceremony at the Central Archive of Criminal Cases of the State General Prosecutor’s Office.
Director of the central archive, prosecutor Z.Chimgee briefed the guests on the project implementation and the archive’s operation. She said, “Established in 2003, the Central Archive of Criminal Cases holds around 103,460 criminal records as of 2019. 5000 to 7000 records are added each year. Although our building was reconstructed in October 2016, we still had an issue with dedicated shelves and drawers. Thus, with a non-refundable aid from TIKA, 400 archival drawers and shelves have been installed.”
Noting that the project’s successful implementation is of great importance for the normal operation of the prosecutor’s office, Deputy General Prosecutor M.Chinbat extended gratitude to TIKA for the opportunity to keep and preserve the documents in line with standards.
Mr. Mustafa Sentop said, “Given my legal background, I am aware of the vital importance of holding and protecting records. TIKA implements projects in many countries around the world. It has thus far implemented over 600 projects worth about USD 45 million in Mongolia. I am pleased that the agency has become our calling card in the world”, expressing confidence with further expansion of cooperation.
