HCM City, Phnom Penh bolster trade
Phnom Penh (VNA) - Visiting Deputy Chairwoman of the HCM City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hong held a working session with the Mayor of Phnom Penh, Kep Chutima, in the city on April 2 to further boost trade exchange between the two countries and cities.
Hong told the host that in 2009, HCM City is paying special attention to
exports to Cambodia .
In addition to an on-going fair featuring Vietnamese products in Phnom Penh , the
city plans to organise a similar fair in Battambang, Hong said. She requested that
Cambodia 's capital create favourable conditions for the construction of
Vietnam-owned warehouses in the city.
For his part, Mayor Kep Chutima said that high-quality Vietnamese goods are becoming
more popular among Cambodians.
He asserted that Cambodia 's transport infrastructure and geographical position
are positive factors toward boosting bilateral trade.-Enditem
