The President Meets The Speaker Of The House of Lords

BAGHDAD (NINA) - President of the Republic Barham Salih met Lord of the House of Lords, met Lord Peter Norman Fowler during his visit to the Council's headquarters in London. Salih praised the role of the United Kingdom and its staunch support for the Iraqi government and people in its response to terrorism and its contribution to the building of its cities, especially the liberated ones. During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Britain and ways to strengthen them and expand the horizons of joint coordination between the legislative institutions to ensure the development of the monitoring and parliamentary work in the country. For his part, Fowler welcomed Salih's visit to London and its contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries, stressing his earnest desire to consolidate joint action and coordination between the House of Lords and Iraqi Parliament.
