Hanoi starts working on flood prevention plan
Hanoi (VNA) - The Hanoi authorities have approved a project to develop detailed plans for lood prevention work in the capital city, focusing on areas along main rivers and dykes.
Under a decision of Hanoi People's Committee on March 31, the project will survey
the rivers' topography and collect data on local and economic conditions, analyse
river flows and assess flood vulnerability in adjacent areas as well as working
capacity of existing dykes.
The project is estimated to cost 3.6 billion VND and is scheduled to be completed
