Second Deputy Premier Granted Award of Excellence for Humanitarian Action in 2009

Riyadh, April 02, SPA--The International Medical Congress in Budapest
has granted the Award of Excellence for Humanitarian Action in 2009
to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of
Interior, and general supervisor of humanitarian and relief
committees and campaigns in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in
recognition of his humanitarian role through humanitarian and relief
committees and campaigns in affected states.

Prince Naif is the first Arab and Islamic personality to win the
Award.
On behalf of the Second Deputy Premier, Saudi
Ambassador to Hungary Faisal Abdulaziz Hashem received the Award,
during the International Medical Conference held in Budapest today in
which more than 82 states participated as well as a large number of
prominent personalities in humanitarian and medical field.
The Award is annually granted to a prominent
personality in humanitarian action and focuses on the medical side.
The award came in recognition of the efforts of Prince
Naif through relief committees and campaigns that are supervised by
the Prince and they have provided programs and humanitarian projects
in Palestine, Iraq, East Asian countries affected by the earthquake
and tsunami, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Lebanon. The social, health,
educational and developmental programs and projects as well as
reconstruction of the infrastructure have cost SR 1,661,496,309.
