HRH Premier receives Huawei Group delegation

Manama, May 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace today a delegation from the high management of Huawei Group, led by Vice President Mark Xueman and Chief Executive of Huawei Bahrain John Leu Weidong. He stressed that the kingdom’s success in attracting major international companies is a boost to the national economy and an assertion of global confidence in Bahrain’s investment climate and its ability to grow and have easy access to regional and international markets. HRH the Premier said the information and telecommunication sector in Bahrain is witnessing perpetual growth that copes with cutting-edge technologies in this field, which earned Bahrain a leading regional and international status as a hub of the information and telecommunication technology. He lauded Huawei ‘s success in developing modern technology in the telecommunication sector which has consolidated the company’s standing as one of the major international telecommunication companies. He underlined keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to keep abreast of the fast-paced developments in the telecommunication and Information Technology (IT) field so as to back the government’s efforts in achieving the sustainable development goals. HRH the Prime Minister asserted that upgrading the business and investment environment is a priority in all development plans of the government. He pointed out keenness on providing a modern and advanced infrastructure and ensuring flexibility of the laws on investment in order to enhance the kingdom’s status as a favourable investment destination in the region. Mr. Xueman lauded the government’s investment and economic vision which endowed Bahrain with an attractive investment climate and a sound infrastructure that earned the kingdom a leading place in the information and telecommunication field in the Middle East. He extended sincerest thanks and respect to HRH the Premier for his continuous care and support to all efforts aimed at further promoting the investment climate in Bahrain and ensuring a sound telecommunication and IT infrastructure. He pointed out that Huawei Group has been operating in Bahrain for 15 years and has been able to bring about a lot of success not only in the kingdom but the whole region. He commended the great facilities and advanced services provided by the government, under the leadership of HRH the Premier, which motivated major companies in invest in the kingdom and regional markets.
