Dong Thap helps build road in Cambodia
Dong Thap (VNA) - The Southern province of Dong Thap has started construction on a 28.5km road from Cambodia 's border with Vietnam to the Trans-Asia highway in Sdach district, Prey Veng province.
The road, expected to be completed in 2011, will run from the Dinh Ba border gate
in Dong Thap province, and Bontia Chak Cray border gate in Prey Veng to the
Trans-Asia highway.
Construction of the road is being funded by Dong Thap province, who has contracted
with Dong Thap Construction and Material Construction Company to fulfill the task.
The road will be capable of handling 10-tonne vehicles, and will be an important
route in terms of economic, cultural, and social development of the two border
regions.
It is expected to boost cultural exchange and friendship between the two provinces
