Opening held to mark 80th anniversary of the Victory of Khalkh Gol Battles

Dornod/MONTSAME/. An opening of the celebrations for 80th anniversary of the Victory of Khalkh Gol Battles was held yesterday, May 6, in Dornod aimag, with the march of honor and wreath-laying at ‘Monument of Mongolian soldiers’. Families and children of 16 women of Bayandun soum of Dornod aimag, who then voluntarily joined the battles in Khalkh Gol took part in the march. During the opening ceremony, a museum ‘Victory’ of Khalkhgol soum of the aimag opened its exhibition and military units in the aimag displayed its military machines for the public. In addition, 500 students of general education schools recited a poem ‘Independence’ by poet D.Purevdorj. Within the anniversary celebration, the numerous activities are planned, including military sport competition and poetry contest ‘Echo of the victory’ will be organized on May 9 or the Victory Day.
