Al-Lami: Iraq Lives Today In A Democratic Atmosphere And Victory Over Daesh

Al-Lami welcomed in the celebration of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate for the World Press Freedom Day, the presence of the First and Second Vice-Presidents of the House of Representatives, members of the House of Representatives, the diplomatic corps and a large number of journalists and media. He said " Today we celebrate freedom of the press and Iraq has accomplished the task, the task of the consolidation of the concepts of democracy and freedom, and today we live the path of democracy and victory, the latest the victory over Daesh organization, and we are happy that since 2008 there is no journalist prisoner on the issue of opinion in Iraq, and we have provided 485 martyrs of journalists, and this number has not been exist in any war, moreover the journalists are working with no-stop with all parties to consolidate the concepts of the foundations of democracy. " Lami called on all Iraqi journalists to stand with the House of Representatives to strengthen the legislative authority to build the country properly. "Today, we can criticize the government, there is no arrest, and we will cooperate with all organizations to clear the Iraqi's image correctly," he added. Lami said "The civilized world has a deal with Facebook and I call on the government to sign an agreement with Facebook through the superiority of what exists in the world in order to guarantee freedom of expression. Freedom in Iraq is not exist in many parts of the world and we have not found any military vehicle because of a word or criticism of any higher authority. / End
