Frosty fires up in Melbourne

Mark Winterbottom made it two out of two for Ford in the V8 Supercar manufacturers' challenge at the Australian Grand Prix as series champion Jamie Whincup survived a frightening late race moment.

Ford Performance Racing's Winterbottom ambushed pole-sitter and race one winner
Craig Lowndes off the grid and led throughout Saturday's 15-lap race to beat
Holden's Will Davison and Ford's Lowndes.
But Whincup nearly came to grief at high speed as he duelled with fellow Ford driver
Steven Johnson for fourth place.
Whincup found himself squeezed out on to the grass, the fence looming menacingly in
what is a non-championship event.
The Team Vodafone driver managed to hold his car together, losing several places but
keeping his Falcon undamaged, then fighting back to finish sixth.
Winterbottom, who had a disappointing start to the championship proper at the
season-opening event in Adelaide last weekend, was thrilled to have made best
possible use of the speed his new FG Falcon clearly has.
And he shot down any suggestion the fact the Grand Prix event wasn't for
championship points meant the top drivers weren't giving their best.
"It was nice to get a win and show the car is competitive and hopefully we'll
continue it tomorrow," Winterbottom said as he goes into the last of the three races
on Sunday on pole.
"Every time you go on the track you're learning - for us it's a new car.
"Everyone can sit here and say it's an exhibition event but we could go and play
indoor cricket and we'd be trying to beat each other.
"You're competitive and you want to win."
Davison again showed his move to the Holden Racing Team looks a good one for both
parties as he pressed Winterbottom hard late in the race.
The HRT new boy was a dual podium finisher in Adelaide last weekend, and has
finished in the placings in both races so far at Albert Park.
