NTR Junior injured in road accident
Hyderabad, Mar 27 (PTI) Actor and star campaigner of
Telgu Desam Party N T Rama Rao (Junior) was injured in a road
accident in the wee hours Friday and is responding well to the
treatment.
"We are very fortunate that NTR (Junior) escaped with
minor injuries. He is recovering well. He has been doing very
well in films and made a mark for himself. In just 15 days of
his maiden election campaigning, Junior has created waves,"
TDP president Chandrababu Naidu said.
Talking to newsmen after visiting Junior at KIMS
Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the intensive
care unit here, Naidu said, "Junior's health was our prime
concern right now. We are not worried about his election
campaign."
Junior's uncle Nandamuri Balakrishna said it was due to
late NTR's blessings and the adoration of people that his
nephew had a lucky escape in the road accident.
"I spoke to him in the hospital. He has a lot of will
power. He is responding well to medication. There is nothing
to worry," Balakrishna said.
"Junior was asking me about the TDP's election campaign,
but I advised him not to worry about that and take rest.
Doctors said he needs rest for six to 12 weeks," Balakrishna
added.
Chandrababu's wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh, CPI(M) state
secretary B V Raghavulu, CPI secretary K Narayana and a host
of TDP leaders also visited Junior in the hospital. Junior's
father and Rajya Sabha member Nandamuri Harikrishna visited
his son late in the afternoon as he himself was unwell.
Meanwhile, actor and Praja Rajyam Party chief
Chiranjeevi, who was electioneering in East Godavari district,
spoke to Junior's mother Shalini over phone and consoled her.
The PCC spokesman wished Junior a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, Junior's fans and TDP workers offered prayers
in various temples across the state wishing him speedy
recovery. At Alipiri, the foothill of Tirumala, TDP workers
broke 101 coconuts and wished well for Junior. PTI DBV
