Ministry uses helicopters to hunt terrorists

SANA'A, March 23 (Saba) - The Interior Ministry has said it has used helicopters to comb the desert area connecting the provinces of Mareb, Shabwa and Hadramout in search for terrorists it said they could shelter to the area.

According to the security media center the move came within an expanded hunt for
terrorists thought to have planned to carry out fresh attacks in the country.

The ministry's announcement came after reports that the US may strike al-Qaeda
targets in Yemen and those Yemen has denied saying all reports over US plans to
pursue al-Qaeda elements in Yemen were untrue and groundless.

On Saturday, the ministry said hunting al-Qaeda operatives was ongoing and security
would not rest until they were arrested.

Earlier, the ministry announced a hunt for twelve men it said they were preparing
for attacks.

The ministry also released the photos of the group, warning about sheltering wanted
suspects.

All this comes after recent suicide bombers, one of whom targeted tourists in
eastern Yemen last week.

The second suicide bomber targeted South Korean investigators who arrived in the
country to investigate the suicide attack that killed four South Korean tourists
along with their local guide and injured six others, including tourists, in the
historic city of Shibam in the eastern region of Hadramout.
