Tight security as fugitives plan attacks
SANA'A, March 22 (Saba) – Recent suicide attacks prompted the
Interior Ministry to urge high alert among security forces and
strict measures to narrow escape choices for plotters.
The ministry has ordered security authorities in the provinces of
Abyan, Mareb, Jawf and Hadramout to firmly control desert passages
linking the provinces in an effort to narrow escape choices for
terrorist fugitives.
Al-Qaeda terrorists use dessert roads connecting the provinces to
escape security crackdowns in a time the ministry warns a number of
terrorists has planned to carry out attacks in different places in
the country.
Security at official compounds and oil facilities must be tight as
well, the ministry ordered.
Meanwhile, deputy minister of Interior Muhammad Bin Abdullah
al-Qawsi has met with security leaders in the eastern province of
Hadramout and discussed issues related to guarding tourist sites
familiar with foreigners.
He outlined the importance of an effective security plan to protect
tourist sites in the province, urging security forces to be on high
alert in a time terrorists are plotting the country.
