NATIONAL ARCHIVES COMMEMORATES P.RAMLEE'S BIRTHDAY

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) -- The National Archives of Malaysia
organised a Only You programme in commemoration of the birthday
of the legendary entertainment icon, the late Dr P. Ramlee, here, Sunday.

The programme was aimed at recalling the behind-the-scene memories of
P.Ramlee movies and discussing the values of each stories.

The archives Memorial Management director, Faridah Ishak said P.Ramlee's
movies actually came messages and lessons to be learnt by all quarters.

"His dedication and willpower in pursuing his dreams should be emulated by
the younger generation who will lead the country some day," she told reporters
here.

Veteran actor Aziz Satar and composer Kassim Masdor were the panelists
in the discussion moderated by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) senior lecturer,
Abdullah Rahman Hanafiah.

Several other programmes have also been lined up throughout the month
including special prayer sessions, educational campaigns and forums for the
public and film industry players to pay tribute to the legend.
