Bahrain's Health Minister receives visiting doctor

Manama, Dec.29 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh received British-based Hepatocellular, pancreatic and advanced endoscopic surgeon Professor Mohammed Abu Hilal, who examined patients and conducted surgeries in Bahrain. The audience was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Hospital Affairs Dr. Mohammed Amin Al-Awadhi, Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) Chief Surgeon Dr. Rani Al-Agha and other consultant surgeons. Al-Saleh stressed the ministry’s keenness on bolstering cooperation and benfiting from expertise as part of the Overseas Visiting Doctor Programme. She paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa who launched the pioneering programme to treat patients and benefit from overseas expertise in training Bahraini doctors and keep abreast of cutting edge technologies. She stressed the importance of the visiting doctors programme, being implement by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the National Committee for Overseas Treatment, pointing out commitment to royal directives to exchange expertise and spare patients the pain of travelling abroad. Professor Mohammed Abu Hilal expressed his keenness on strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise, commended tangible health and medical strides in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The British-based Hepatocellular, pancreatic and advanced endoscopic surgeon conducted a number of surgical operations on patients at the Salmaniya Meical Complex (SMC). He also examined a group of patients who are suffering from liver and pancreas tumors.
