ICC continues youth empowerment program in Yemen

ADEN, March 21 (Saba) – With funding from the US Agency for
International Development USAID, the International Child Care has
been conducting surveys on youth in four Yemeni provinces Sana'a,
Ibb, Abyan and Aden with the aim to empower them.

Coordinator of the youth empowerment program at the organization
Maeen Salam said the surveys started in February 2009 and will last
till the end of this month.

The surveys are targeting unlucky youth aged 14-24 to build up their
capacity and to provide them with more options to be productive
community assets, he said.

Late last year, the Aden-based youth and sports office and the
International Child Care signed a deal for establishing a youth
media center that will cover the organization activities in the
target provinces.

Youth and children will be involved in an attempt to promote their
media role.

The International Child Care, USA (ICC) is a Christian health
development agency that responds in compassion to children suffering
from tuberculosis, malnutrition and physical disabilities. Since
1967, ICC has provided vital health services, and has strengthened
