BDF Commander-in-Chief receives US official

Manama, Dec. 19 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received today the US Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Major General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi and BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi. The BDF Commander-in-Chief welcomed the US Secretary of the Navy and his accompanying delegation and reviewed with them bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation and ways of bolstering them mainly in the defence field. He held a lunch banquet at the BDF Officers Club in honour of the US delegation on the occasion of their visit to Bahrain. Present at the meeting were Defence Ministry Undersecretary Major General Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, General Command Court Director Major General Hassan Mohammed Sa'ad, Assistant Chief of Staff for Supply and Catering Rear Admiral Yusef Ahmed Malallah, Commander of the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF) Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Military Cooperation Director Rear Admiral Mohammed Hashim Al Sadah, Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF) Commodore Mohammed Yusef Al Asam and senior officers. The meeting was also attended by the US Naval Forces Central Command and Fifth Fleet Commander Vice Admiral James Malloy, the US embassy Charge’ D’Affaires Ms. Aimee Cutrona and the US Military Attache Colonel Dave Wallin.
